Two Weeks Flew By!

Dear Woodcraft Families,

Our first two weeks at camp have been filled with Woodcraft fun, friends, and adventures. We are going to savor every moment of this last week of first session, and we also can’t wait to welcome our second session Woodcrafters!

We are so grateful for the opportunity to be part of your campers’ summers. We are proud of what they have already accomplished, and excited for what is yet to come!

To catch up on camp news, please read below, and don’t forget to check out our Woodcraft Photo Gallery! Write Christina for the password if you need it!

First Session Trips

Ask any Woodcrafter what they most remember about their experience at camp, and they will share about the freedom, peace, excitement, and growth they experienced out on their cabin canoe or backpacking trips through the Adirondack wilderness. There is nothing like the bonding experience of a Woodcraft Trip!

Trail Camp summited Saddleback & Gothics peaks and had an awesome time catching the sunrise over Lower Ausable Lake from Indian Head, and cooling off at Bushnell Falls.

Auroras climbed Blue Mountain before setting out on a few-night paddling adventure. Since they are all staying for the full summer, they combined their hiking and canoeing skills to assess what they might like to include in their next trip!

Rangers had a great time canoeing from Raquette Lake down the Marion River and portaging to the Utowana Lake lean-to where they crossed paths with the Auroras when a rainstorm moved in.

Iroquois Village paddled on beautiful Lake Lila and hiked to Mt Frederica’s rocky overlook to take in the full vista. They set up a shop at a beautiful campsite and enjoyed delicious meals around the fire.

Hadarondahs and Wenonahs set out on canoes on Seventh Lake and paddled to their expansive lean-to campsite, where they explored the trail to Black Bear Mountain and cooled off in the lake.

OLTDs are on their way home after summiting Blake, Colvin, Nippletop, Sawteeth, Pyramid, Gothics and Armstrong. We can't wait to hear their trip report!

Special Sundays

The 4th of July at Woodcraft brought back everyone’s favorite traditions of cardboard boat races, cabin Declarations of Independence from Woodcraft, frog races, and an evening full of song and laughter around Woodcraft’s 4th of July bonfire as the sun set behind the Field of Dreams.

The 2026 Woodcup, far more famous and serious than the FIFA World Cup, took center stage last weekend, and Team Australia took home the trophy! This year, counselors were able to participate as midfielders with plenty of rules in place, and it was a fun day of soccer for all on “Field O.”

Halloween & Carnival will be keeping our campers busy on Special Sundays during second session!

More news to follow… See you soon!
