Woodcraft in the News!
Dear Woodcraft Family, we thought you might enjoy the news clips about Woodcraft from WKTV Channel 2. We are always grateful for every opportunity to help spread the word and we thank Kirk Tupaj from WKTV for visiting and reporting on Woodcraft! We had very little heads-up for this interview, so there was no planning, but we think it turned out well!
Camp News
In case you haven’t been able to catch up on our most recent news from Week 6:
End of Summer Pick-Up
Please say it isn’t so. How is it possible that we will be bidding our 2026 Woodcrafters farewell so soon? Camper Pick Up for the end of Summer 2026 is Sunday, August 9th, from 10 am until 12 pm.
Trips
The OLTDs returned from their awesome Great Range trip. They made a few adjustments due to the weather, but didn’t skip a beat and enjoyed a gorgeous, Adirondack adventure. The Auroras and Trail Campers rafted the Hudson yesterday, and Rangers & Wenonahs rappelled Bald Mountain! Today, we sent out a small group of campers to Fern Park to hunt for ripe raspberries.
Olympics
We saw excellent sportsmanship at the 2026 Woodcraft Olympics. Green and Gold competed in KP relays, Canoe Tug of War, Distance Swim, Make a Meal Scavenger Hunt, Bench Hurdles, Diving, Woodcraft Trivia, and many more classic events. The Woodcraft Olympic Triathlon was a huge success, with 20 athletes competing for their teams. Congratulations to Leo Lang and Grace Bartlett on their top Men’s & Women’s triathlon times.
Special Events
Bongo’s Bingo, brought to us by our very own host, Sam Wilson, will return to camp tonight for our evening entertainment. The theme this year is: Musicals! And just like that, we’ll arrive at Candlelight on Saturday evening. More news on that soon!
