2020 Summer Camp Update

May 09, 2020

Dear Woodcraft Families & Friends,

We write to you with optimism and news of a revised timeline for Summer Camp 2020 at Adirondack Woodcraft Camps. We are touched and encouraged by your support. It has been wonderful to hear from so many of you who have let us know that your campers need Woodcraft more than ever this summer. It is our greatest hope to be able to provide a summer full of fun, friendship and outdoor freedom to our Woodcrafters. 2020 will be Adirondack Woodcraft Camps’ 96th season!

Over the past two months, we have connected with many professionals and experts in the field. While we still await official guidelines from New York State and the CDC, the American Camp Association has done a tremendous job with collecting valuable information and providing resources for summer camps to begin to build their own framework. With safety in mind as our top priority, we have decided to preemptively adapt the timing of our 2020 summer camp sessions to minimize exposure and maximize safety for our campers and staff.

Our New 2020 Adirondack Summer Camp Season is as follows:

Traditional Overnight Camp

Full Four Week Session: July 12 - August 8

Two Week Option: July 12 - July 26

Day Camp

Monday-Friday August 10 - 14

The above timeline means there will be just one common arrival day at camp. By pushing our start date back, we allow more time for camp preparation, staff training, and opportunity for staff and campers to responsibly isolate before arriving to camp. We continue to work on arrival and departure day procedures. Important to note: Our two week option, which is normally our “Rookie” session for first-time campers up to age 11, is open to all Woodcrafters this year.

With hope as our wings, it is important to remain grounded and realistic about our best laid plans. We recognize that the situation is fluid and that we are bound to the decisions and recommendations made by New York State and public health officials. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding!

We look forward to connecting with you and helping you to change your camper’s session to what works best for your family. If for any reason, your camper is not able to attend camp this season, we are happy to roll over your tuition to next summer or refund you. The same will be true if camp gets canceled.

Sending warmest wishes from our family to yours,

Doug & Christina Bartlett
