Summer Camp News Summer 2019, July 5th!

Hello Campers!
Happy 5th of July from your favorite summer camp: Adirondack Woodcraft Camps! We’ve had fantastic week with mostly great weather and the campers and their counselors have been having tons of fun at activities and at their cabins. At the waterfront we’ve been busy swimming, jumping, diving, boating, fishing and of course enjoying free swim during General Swim. Our land activities are also in full swing and campers have been exploring at Nature, crafting at Arts & Crafts, cruising on bikes, zipping through trees, climbing up the rock wall, perfecting their archery skills and staying busy on the Afield and Field O.
Guess what—our Trail Campers and Auroras are already on their second day of their first trip! Amazing. Trail Camp is exploring the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness and the Auroras are on a canoe trip to Stillwater with day hikes also on the program. They all return Saturday. We are already looking forward to having them back at camp so we can all celebrate the 4th of July the Woodcraft way together this Sunday! We’ll tell you more about that next week!
Last night the Wenonahs went on a night hike around camp with Nature Mary and their counselors Mei & Senna and then stargazed on Field O with Wonky’s guidance (Wonky has quite a lot of astronomy knowledge… and he does have a “real” name but we bet your campers won’t know what it is when they return because we only-affectionately—call him Wonky at camp!) It was the perfect night to see the stars! Our OLTDs earned a special trip to see the Inlet fire works from Eagle Cliff with their fearless leader Balex. They also got to sleep in a bit this morning. They are doing a great job helping at camp and learning how to be a counselor. The Hadarondahs had a great time at “spa night” last night (an excellent and fun way to get showers in, teeth brushed and pajamas on VERY quickly:)
