What's K.A.R.E. at Adirondack Woodcraft Camps?

How’s it going, campers?
Oh me? I’m one happy dog. Life is good. And it’s about to get a whole lot better when you come to Woodcraft for the best summer camp experience EVER. All of the snow still needs to melt but that will happen fast. My parents are a little impatient with the muddy road but I personally LOVE mud. Mud is fun. It’s cool and smushy. You can make mud pies, mud balls, mud worms, you can roll in mud, splash in mud… I say enjoy it while you can.
My parents have been a little busy so I thought it was time for me to write again because you know how it goes with parents sometimes. I want to tell you about K.A.R.E. at Adirondack Woodcraft Camps so you can be ready this summer. Yup. (I know you write care with a “c” but you see it’s a play on words.)
K.A.R.E. stands for Kindness And Respect for Everyone. It’s all about how I play with you, how you play with me and how we play with everyone and everything at summer camp: kindly and respectfully. For instance, when you talk to me please take care of my feelings and then I will feel safe. Just because I’m a dog don’t assume I don’t have feelings. I do. And when I listen to you, I will listen without interrupting so you know that what you say matters to me. Don’t bark when other people are speaking. That’s just one example.
I like things simple and easy. Anything that gets in the way of being kind or respectful isn’t worth doing or saying. Doesn’t matter if you're short, tall, old, young, silly, serious… Being kind and respectful is just how we roll at Woodcraft. We all take care of each other. It’s one of the things that make us a super-special-totally-awesome summer camp up here in the Adirondacks.
Speaking of rolling… I’m going to go test the mud. See you campers soon!
Love, Margo
